Subject: USDOT TIGER VII Discretionary Grant-Regional Coordination

Good Morning,

The USDOT has released the Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for FY 2015 TIGER Discretionary Grants (http://www.dot.gov/tiger).  This year $500 million is made available to fund transportation projects.  There is no dedicated funding available for planning grants (unlike FY 2014). Pre-applications are required this year and are due on May 4, 2015. Final applications are due June 5, 2015. A copy of the NOFA and a Fact Sheet are attached to this email for your reference.

We would like to once again coordinate regionally for this discretionary grant opportunity.  Partnership within our region is critical to successfully garner these funds for our collective priorities here in Central Florida. Working together, we can better strategize which projects to pursue, and which agencies would be ideal to pursue each of the grant opportunities.  In previous years our region was quite successful with the discretionary grants due to our collective efforts. Together we can once again help each other to ensure the success of our efforts.

We will be scheduling an online meeting between our partners on Friday, April 24, 2015. Another e-mail will be sent out later today with the time and on-line information. The primary purpose of the meeting is to generate a preliminary list of projects that different agencies are considering pursuing this year. We will also provide you with information on the program.  You are also welcome to join us in person at the HDR Offices in downtown Orlando.  Again, we will send out a calendar invite later today with the specifics.

I look forward to discussing this more with you later this week.  If you have any questions in the meantime, please feel free to contact me.

Thanks.
